ATACAMA PHOTO tour

Private Atacama Photography Tours

The Atacama Desert is one of the most extraordinary places on Earth for landscape photography. Vast salt flats, high-altitude lagoons, volcanic landscapes and some of the clearest night skies on the planet create endless opportunities for unique images.

Our Atacama Photography Expeditions are designed for travelers and photographers who want to explore these landscapes at the best moments of light while capturing extraordinary photographs.

These journeys go far beyond traditional tours. Each expedition is carefully planned to reach the right locations at the right time, allowing photographers to work during sunrise, sunset and night photography sessions.

All expeditions are fully private and tailor-made, allowing us to adapt the itinerary to your photographic interests, experience level and preferred shooting conditions.

Whether you are an amateur, enthusiast or professional photographer, these expeditions provide the opportunity to capture unique landscapes while learning new techniques if desired.

Guided Photography Expeditions

During every expedition I personally guide travelers throughout the journey.

With more than 10 years of experience guiding photography expeditions in the Atacama Desert, and a lifetime exploring this region, I can take travelers to locations that remain unknown to most visitors.

In addition to photography guidance, travelers will also learn about the unique environment of the Atacama Desert, including its geology, wildlife, flora and the cultural history of the Atacameño (Lickan Antai) people, whose presence in the region dates back more than 12,000 years.

Photography in the Atacama Desert

The Atacama Desert offers an extraordinary diversity of photographic landscapes.

During the expedition we visit unique locations at the best hours of the day in order to capture the best natural light.

For this reason, our schedules are very different from the classic tours offered in the area, often starting before sunrise or continuing after sunset to take advantage of the most dramatic lighting conditions.

Night photography sessions can also be included, allowing photographers to capture the Milky Way above the desert landscapes.

Places We Explore

Depending on the itinerary, photography expeditions may include some of the most spectacular landscapes of the Atacama Desert:

Altiplanic lagoons
Salar de Atacama
Piedras Rojas
Valle de la Luna
High-altitude volcano landscapes
Remote Altiplano regions
Unique desert formations in the Cordillera de la Sal

AND MANY UNIQUE & HIDDEN LOCATIONS ALONG THE WHOLE ATACAMA DESERT & ALTIPLANO

Some expeditions can also extend beyond San Pedro de Atacama to explore remote regions of Tarapacá and Arica & Parinacota, where the desert and the Altiplano offer extraordinary photographic opportunities.

Private Tailor-Made Service

All expeditions are completely private and fully customized.

This means the itinerary can be adapted according to your photographic goals, allowing maximum flexibility to plan shooting sessions at any time of day or night.
