Moon Valley
The classic and unique Valley of the Moon is a must for any traveler when visiting San Pedro de Atacama. It is a geological wonder located a few kilometers from the town where the shapes, colors, textures and unique landscapes, captivate any person making him believe he is on another planet. The geographical place where this wonderful place is located is the Cordillera de la Sal, which surrounds the Atacama basin and is of low height and based on rocks and sedimentary minerals.
During the tour you will visit places like El mirador de Ckari or Piedra del Coyote, achaches, the three marias, the amphitheater viewpoint and the greater dune. Depending on the season of the year you can visit all the famous points mentioned, but in winter for the fewest hours of sun some stops can be omitted. The tour ends with a stop at some of the viewpoints to watch the sunset and then return to the town.
Recommendations: Go with light clothing and good shoes for rustic soil. Hats and sunblock and at least 1 liter of water per person, in addition to wearing a coat for when the temperature drops a little during sunset.
Schedule: In spring-summer it starts at 3:50 pm from the agency and in autumn-winter from 14:50. The return is after sunset.
