Guatemala Private Expeditions
Guatemala is one of the most extraordinary destinations in Central America, where active volcanoes, tropical landscapes and ancient cultures create a unique environment for exploration and photography.
Our expeditions explore some of the most spectacular volcanic landscapes of the country, including the famous Acatenango Volcano, the constantly erupting Volcán de Fuego, and the stunning scenery surrounding Lake Atitlán, considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
Around Lake Atitlán we explore several traditional Mayan villages located along its shores, visiting colorful communities and experiencing the rich cultural heritage of the region. The forests surrounding the lake are also one of the few places where it is possible to photograph the famous Quetzal, Guatemala’s national bird.
The expedition also continues into the tropical forests of the Petén region, entering the vast Maya Biosphere Reserve to explore some of the most impressive archaeological sites of the ancient Maya civilization.
Here we visit the legendary ruins of Tikal and Yaxhá, two of the most spectacular Mayan cities hidden within the jungle. During this part of the expedition we spend two nights in jungle lodges located just steps from Tikal National Park, allowing us to experience the sounds and atmosphere of the rainforest.
After exploring the ruins and the surrounding jungle landscapes, the journey continues to the charming island town of Flores, where we stay for additional exploration and activities around Lake Petén Itzá.
All expeditions are fully private and tailor-made, allowing us to design each itinerary according to the interests, pace and photography goals of every traveler.
Guided Private Expeditions
During every expedition I personally guide travelers throughout the journey.
In Guatemala we also collaborate with experienced local guides, ensuring safe access to the volcanoes, the jungle and archaeological sites while providing deeper insights into the region’s landscapes and culture.
To maintain connectivity even in remote locations, the expedition also includes Starlink satellite internet, allowing communication and internet access throughout the journey.

Photography in Guatemala
Guatemala offers exceptional opportunities for landscape and night photography.
The possibility of photographing active volcanic eruptions, dramatic cloud formations, tropical forests and ancient Mayan ruins creates truly unique photographic conditions.
As a professional landscape photographer and PhotoPills Master, I assist travelers interested in capturing these extraordinary scenes while also photographing the journey itself.
What to Expect During Each Season
Dry Season
The dry season generally runs from October–November until April–May.
During this period rainfall is minimal, which often results in clearer skies and very crisp landscapes due to the absence of atmospheric haze.
These conditions are particularly favorable for photography and outdoor exploration.
Rainy Season
The rainy season typically occurs from May until October.
During this period the landscapes become greener and more lush, although weather conditions can sometimes influence the itinerary.
Most activities can still be carried out, but flexibility is important as weather patterns in tropical and volcanic regions can change rapidly.
